Issue

  • Unable to create symlinks on a hugetlbfs filesystem

    $ mount | grep hugetlbfs
hugetlbfs on /dev/hugepages type hugetlbfs (rw,relatime,seclabel)
$ ln -s /dev/hugepages/libvirt /dev/hugepages/somelink
ln: failed to create symbolic link ‘/dev/hugepages/somelink’: Invalid argument

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • kernel-3.10.0-957.1.3.el7 (all kernels currently effected)
  • hugetlbfs
