Can the "rhevm" logical network be tagged and untagged in the same DC?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1

Issue

  • According to the RHEV 3.1 Administration Guide, the default logical network for all traffic is named rhevm - and one rhevm logical network is allowed per Data Center (DC). Can two clusters in the same DC have different tagging settings of the rhevm network?

Resolution

  • According to http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2013-May/014356.html, "This is definitely not supported in oVirt." Additionally, it was noted in the above mail that "non-tagged packets from the non-tagged cluster would find it hard to make their way to destinations in the tagged cluster"

  • However, this feature has been requested. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=965289 has additional information.
