GFS filesystem can't be mounted after cluster node fenced on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5

Issue

  • We are not able to mount the FS(GFS) in our cluster node.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5 (with the High Availability Add on)
  • Red Hat High Availability Cluster with 2 or more nodes:

    • Cluster services are not set to start on boot:
    $ grep -e cman -e clvmd -e "gfs " chkconfig 
    clvmd           0:off   1:off   2:off   3:off   4:off   5:off   6:off
    cman            0:off   1:off   2:off   3:off   4:off   5:off   6:off
    gfs             0:off   1:off   2:off   3:off   4:off   5:off   6:off
    
  • GFS filesystems on cluster nodes:

    • After a fencing event, the GFS filesystems can't be mounted.
