System crash when connected to DELL CQ8618QT touchscreen display

Issue

  • The Dell CQ8618QT display has both HDMI and USB ports.
  • The USB port is used to carry touchscreen input information.
  • Whenever the touchscreen USB input is connected, the system crashes.
  • The display works correctly in all versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
