Authentication by ldap acount had been failed since updating to samba-3.

Issue

  • Our customer encountered a problem that authentication by ldap account had been failed since updating from samba-3.5.10-125.el6.x86_64 to samba-3.6.9-151.el6.x86_64.
  • Checking samba log file, following message was logged. It seems that unmatch of domain sid occurred.
The primary group domain sid(S-1-5-21-XXXX) does not match the domain sid(S-1-5-21-XXXX) for account_name(S-1-5-21-XXXX)
  • It looks that this problem is related to any change between samba-3.5 and samba-3.6.
  • The customer does not want to modify sid. Is there other way to resove it on samba feature?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
  • samba-3.6.9-151.el6.x86_64
