RHEL 7.6: Under certain conditions, CIFS will not mount after upgrading from 3.10.0-862*el7 to 3.10.0-957.el7
Issue
- CIFS is failing to mount with
-EIO (-5). - After updating to kernel
3.10.0-957.el7, CIFS shares are not mounting.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.6
- kernels from 3.10.0-957.el7 and prior to 3.10.0-957.10.1.el7
- CIFS client
- Windows Server 2012 R2
