Openhpi is getting some incorrect events from the blade enclosure

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

On an HP c7000 enclosure when one fan unit is pulled out, we observe spurious events unrelated to that unit in the openhpi logs.

When pulling out the FAN unit number one from an HP c7000 blade enclosure we can see the following event in the openhpi logs:

Event Type: HOTSWAP
From Resource: {SYSTEM_CHASSIS,8}{COOLING_UNIT,1}{COOLING_DEVICE,2}{FAN,1}

At the same time we also observe errors related to another FAN unit:

Event Type: SENSOR
From Resource: {SYSTEM_CHASSIS,8}{COOLING_UNIT,1}{COOLING_DEVICE,1}{FAN,3}
 Event Resource ID: 24
 Event Timestamp: 2013-01-16 20:36:00
 Event Severity: CRITICAL
 Event Sensor Num: 0 (0 hex)
 Event Sensor Type: OPERATIONAL
 Event Sensor Category: ENABLE
 Event Sensor Assertion: TRUE
 Event Sensor State: DISABLED
 Optional Data: PREVIOUS_STATE | CURRENT_STATE
   Previous Sensor State: ENABLED
   Current Sensor State: DISABLED

(000): SENSOR_RDR ID=131072, Ctrl=1, EvtCtrl=WR, Tag=Operational status

Event Type: RESOURCE
From Resource: {SYSTEM_CHASSIS,8}{COOLING_UNIT,1}{COOLING_DEVICE,1}{FAN,3}
  Event Resource ID: 24
  Event Timestamp: 2013-01-16 20:36:00
  Event Severity: CRITICAL
  ResourceEventType: FAILURE
