Image push to docker registry fails with EOF error

Issue

  • Jenkins image builds fail when trying to push a newly-built image to the registry.
  • This only occurs for specific larger image streams which contain 1000+ tags.

  • Attempt to push to the registry fails with this error:

    Put https://172.30.136.32:5000/v2/mobility-service/mobility-service/manifests/testing: EOF

Environment

  • Openshift Container Platform 3.9 and below
