setfacl -x does not fail when asked to remove a non-existent Access Control Entry on RHEL 5 and RHEL 6

Solution Verified - Updated -

  • setfacl demonstrates inconsistent error reporting behaviour when a filesystem is remounted with noacl when the file in question actually has ACL entries.
  • setfacl -m fails with an error message, setfacl -x fails silently.
