NFS shares from EMC Celerra are readable and writable. But while starting the application from this directory, it fails as it is not able to acquire lock for read/write.

Issue

  • We have mounted a few NFS shares from EMC Celerra and we are able to read and write to these shares. But when we try to install or start an application from this directory it fails as it is not able to acquire lock for read/write.
We have confirmed that the lockd is running on the EMC Celerra and tried restarting the datamovers too. IPtables and SELinux are stopped on the client. NFS clients are RHEL5 systems.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • NFS
