[RHEL] Firefox crashes during initialization when using NVidia Driver

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After upgrade Firefox to Version 17 it crashes when using NVidia Driver
  • Firefox is not opening and we can see the following error after upgrade it to version 17

May  1 13:25:13 server gconfd (root-7492): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/root/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at position 1
May  1 13:25:13 server gconfd (root-7492): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only configuration source at position 2
May  1 13:25:13 server gconfd (root-7492): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/root/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at position 0

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 - All Releases
  • Firefox 17
