  • Installation of Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite 5.5 fails with the following error message
DBI connect('//localhost:1521/rhnsat.world','rhnsat',...) failed: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin) at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Spacewalk/Setup.pm line 1629
  • End of /var/log/rhn/instal_db.log shows:
Creating: Database storage directory
Configuration file for rhnsat is /rhnsat/admin/rhnsat/init.ora
Adding 'rhnsat' entry to /etc/oratab
