Require openssl-0.9.8m on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We require openssl 0.9.8m to address a vulnerability (CVE-2009-3555: TLS/SSL Renegotiation Vulnerability) with some of our apache-httpd deployments. It appears that 'e' is the latest openssl 0.9.8 version in RHEL 5.9. What would be the best way to do this? I did notice that the available version is 'e-26' and the build date is Feb of this year, so I'm not sure how this coincides with 'm'.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9
  • openssl
