Only 10 nodes of a large cluster are used to balance requests with EAP 7.1 and later

Issue

  • The documentation Developing EJB Applications, chapter 8.10. Implementing a Custom Load Balancing Policy for EJB Calls suggests that there is a limitation when running large clusters with more than 20 nodes.
  • A client connecting to a large cluster with more than 10 nodes is using only 10 cluster nodes for balancing the load.
  • Multiple clients connecting to a large cluster with more than 10 nodes are using the same cluster nodes leaving some nodes unused.
  • Within a server to server EJB invocation scenario within a cluster with more than 10 nodes, only 10 nodes are used by a configured ClusterNodeSelector
