Print jobs disappear from the spool after three hours in RHEL
Issue
- On a new system I send print job on printers that doesn't exist. The jobs stay in the print queue (the
lpstat -o
command shows them; however, after a few hours, the jobs are removed from the spool (they are no longer in the output oflpstat -o
). - Our print jobs take a very long time to print. After several hours, the jobs seem to be automatically canceled.
- We leave print jobs in the queue overnight, but they are deleted by morning.
- Is there a chance to retry printing endless or at least not to cancel the job?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 & 8
