Is Jboss EAP 7.1 latest image compatible with Red Hat Openshift Container Platform 3.6?

- Is JBoss EAP 7.1 images beyond 1-2.7 no longer supported for Openshift 3.6?
According to the online documentation regarding JBoss EAP 7.1 images, in change logs:
until 1-2.7: This image can be used with OpenShift Container Platform 3.6, and OpenShift Container Platform 3.7.
starting from 1-2.12: These images can be used with OpenShift Container Platform 3.7 and OpenShift Container Platform 3.9.
