Autofs fails to connect to ldap server on reboot

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

Configured autofs to read it's maps from an LDAP server. On reboot, the automount process starts but the maps have not been loaded so connecting to autofs mount points fails. Running service autofs restart fixes the issue immediately, The ip addresses of ldap servers are being added to /etc/hosts file to avoid dns related issue.

Here is the messages logged by automounter.

Jun 18 09:45:42 testbx automount[3163]: do_reconnect: lookup(ldap): failed to find available server
Jun 18 10:04:38 testbx automount[3163]: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server ldap://ldap1.example.com: Can't contact LDAP server
