Why does kickstart installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 land up into dracut shell and upon exit, continues installation?
Issue
- An internal Automation process creates an ISO image to be consumed by physical servers to get staged. The expected result is to stage a physical server which has VLAN tagged interface.
- If one tries to stage a server over ISO and if NIC needs to use VLAN tagging (kickstart file has all necessary configuration), the staging stops with a
dracuttimeout error and eventually lands up intodracut#shell, upon typingexit, it continues installation without any problem.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5
- Kickstart installation
