Why is /var/log/messages filling with qed_dcbx_get_app_protocol_type errors?

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • I've recently installed new Dell R740 with RHEL 7.5 for my RHV environment. After installing the hypervisors via rhvm /var/log/messages gets spammed with 1800 messages per second.
  • Messages from the qede driver are filling the logs so rapidly the system cannot function normally.
kernel: [qed_dcbx_get_app_protocol_type:260(em1-0)]No action required, App TLV id = 0x0 app_prio_bitmap = 0x1ff

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.4
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.5
  • Qlogic QL41xxx family of cards
  • llpad and dcbx
  • qede driver
