Failed to migrate running virtual machine after upgrading hypervisor to rhvh-4.2

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Recently upgraded RHVM to 4.2
  • After updating first RHVH to 4.2, failed to migrate with the following errors:
    engine.log
<date> ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.core.dal.dbbroker.auditloghandling.AuditLogDirector] (EE-ManagedThreadFactory-engine-Thread-111699) [] EVENT_ID: VM_MIGRATION_TO_SERVER_FAILED(120), Migration failed  (VM: myVM, Source: host1, Destination: host2).

vdsm.log on source:

<date> ERROR (migsrc/db1c350f) [virt.vm] (vmId='db1c350f-75cd-476e-b260-584bb77755ea') (104, 'Connection reset by peer') (migration:287)

vdsm.log on destination:

<date> ERROR (Reactor thread) [ProtocolDetector.SSLHandshakeDispatcher] ssl handshake: SSLError, address: ::ffff:<source-host-IP> (sslutils:263)
  • I am able start virtual machines on the upgraded hypervisor without issue.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.2
  • Red Hat Virtualization Hypervisor (recently upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2)
