Unable to generate sosreport due to huge journals filling the disk space

Issue

  • sosreport does not finish due to huge size of journal and fails reporting

"No space left on device while collecting plugin data".

  • How can the journal be handled, or journald has to be configured ?

  • I had enough space to create sosreport before executing the command, but there is no spare space anymore on running sosreport.
  • sosreport causes out of memory(OOM).

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • sos-3.3-4.el7 through 3.5-7.el7_5
