After firmware update, Cisco UCS enic network does not start because the NIC interface name has changed

Issue

  • Prior to the firmware update, NIC was named eno5. After applying the firmware update and rebooting, the NIC comes up with the name enp98s0f0.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • SystemD persistent device naming
  • Red Hat OpenStack 7
  • Cisco UCS hardware
