Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • When I run throughput test by iperf. why using parameter of -B the throughput will better than without -B in RHEL 7.2.
    Iperf version:2.0.9
Build 2G linux bond lacp mode.
    Ex: bondX=2G (1Gx2)

  • RHEL 7.2 :

    • Server: iperf –s –i 1
    • Client: iperf –c (bondX_ip) –w 2m –l 64k –i 1 –P 8 –t 60
    • Result: 1.8Gbit/s
  • RHEL 7.3 :

    • Server: iperf –s –i 1
    • Client: iperf –c (bondX_ip) –w 2m –l 64k –i 1 –P 8 –t 60
    • Result: 950Mbit/s
  • Use parameter of -B in RHEL 7.3 :

    • Server: iperf –s –i 1
    • Client: iperf –c (bondX_ip) –B (local_ip) –w 2m –l 64k –i 1 –P 8 –t 60
    • Result: throughput can reach to 1.8Gbit/s

Environment

  • RHEL7
  • LACP bond
    • layer3+4 policy
  • iperf3
