Why ping6 command gives "connect: Invalid argument" for link-local (fe80) addresses?
Issue
- Why server is not able to ping the ipv6 link-local address?
- ping6 command showing
connect: Invalid argumenterror.
# ping6 fe80::xxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx
connect: Invalid argument
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
- IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6 addressing)
