Storage LUN path does not recover during FC cable pull test with QLogic QLE2672 adapter

Issue

  • While testing FC cable pull test on RHEL 7.5 with QLogic QLE2672 adapter, it was found that once FC cable is reconnected, the failed SAN devices are unable to recover automatically.

    • The issue is intermittent in nature and occurs with QLE2672 HBA firmware version 8.03.01.
    • The same issue was not reproducible while using QLE2672 HBA with firmware version 7.01.00.

    Following fw errors were logged during FC cable pull test:

    kernel: qla2xxx [0000:06:00.0]-00ce:0: Unsupported FAC firmware (8.03.01).
    kernel: qla2xxx [0000:06:00.0]-500a:0: LOOP UP detected (16 Gbps).
