Driver errors when using NVIDIA GT 710

When an NVIDIA GT 710 is used in a system, we come across the following error in the kernel logs and experience reduced functionality:
[ 1.310064] nouveau 0000:02:00.0: PCI INT A: failed to register GSI [ 1.310070] nouveau: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -1
