DM-Multipath is not creating mpath devices

Issue

  • We have assigned SAN devices to the host and configured DM-Multipath, but multipath -ll does not show any devices. Also there are no mpathX devices created in /dev/mapper directory.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8
  • Device Mapper Multipath
