Issue
- Syslog fails to log messages when a duplicate IP address appears on the network
- Why no printk for duplicate IPs?
- In Solaris the following warning messages are logged whenever the network detects another MAC address using the assigned IP address.
ip: [ID xyz kern.warning] WARNING:IP: Hardware address 'xx:xx:xx:xx:xx' trying to be our address 010.071.000.002!
Why Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems doesn't detect when someone steals its IP ?
