Issue

  • Extracting data with star on a gfs2 filesystem is performing slowly. The .tar file is extracted to a gfs2 filesystem when running the command:
# cd /my/gfs2/filesstem
# star  -x  -acl  -f data.tar`

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6, 7 (with the High Availability Add On and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
  • A Global Filesystem 2(gfs2)
