Running "auditctl -l" may report an incorrect inode number in Red Hat Enteprise Linux

Issue

  • If we setup to watch a file which has a big inode number, auditctl -l reports an incorrect inode number.
  • When listing audit rules, large inode values may not display properly.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 / audit-1.7.17-3.el5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 / audit-1.0.14-4.el4

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 / audit-2.0.4-1.el6
