Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • gluster peer status and gluster volume status report incorrect status after a node is shutdowned during running gluster volume status.
  1. Run gluster volume status frequently.

    [root@rhs02 ~]# watch -n 1 gluster volume status

  2. Shutdown another node.

    [root@rhs01 ~]# shutdown -h now

  3. Look at gluster peer status and gluster volume status

    [root@rhs02 ~]# gluster peer status
    Number of Peers: 1

    Hostname: rhs01
    Port: 24007
    Uuid: c05a3d7b-05d0-4c3b-bdcc-5e2a5b0c3e1c
    State: Peer in Cluster (Connected)
    [root@rhs02 ~]# gluster volume status
    operation failed
