Unable to configure dhcp-timeout system-wide

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • Currently /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/ 99-dhcp-timeout.conf or /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf is configured with ipv4.dhcp-timeout=100 but it does not propagate to connections with ipv4.dhcp.timeout=0:
    [root@rhel7u5 ~]# cat /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/ 99-dhcp-timeout.conf
    [connection]
    ipv4.dhcp-timeout=100

    [root@rhel7u5 ~]# nmcli con show ens9 | grep ipv4.dhcp-timeout
    ipv4.dhcp-timeout: 0 (default))

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.5
  • NetworkManager-1.10.2-13.el7.x86_64
