Not able to run oc adm top pod from non cluster-admin user.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The command oc adm top pods is not displaying the memory resources.
  • The user is not a cluster-admin but a project-admin of the application namespace.
  • The below error is observed when trying to view the top output for pods.
W0514 <time>   26453 top_pod.go:192] Metrics not available for pod <pod-name>, age: 1234
error: Metrics not available for pod <pod-name>, age: 1234
