SCTP Application getting EINVAL during connect() or sendmsg()

Issue

  • sctp_test fails with sendmsg: Invalid argument
  • sctp_status fails with connect: Invalid argument
  • strace of SCTP client shows connect(...) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • ipv4 addresses in range: 0.0.0.0/8, 224.0.0.0/4, 198.18.0.0/24, 192.88.99.0/24.
