Getting MQJCA0002 exception while connecting to IBM MQ from EAP

Issue

  • When attempting to open a connection to an IBM MQ queue, I receive a MQJCA0002 exception:

    ERROR [MW-Writer[30]-0] Messaging UID=xxxxxx, CRID=xxxxxxxxx, PAN=xxxxxxxxxx, PCN=xxxxxxxxx, RQID=pc:xxxxxxx, SNAME=, MethodName = ,SRC=ABCD, TMSTMP=Mon Apr 16 20:47:52 PDT 2018, MSG=ContingencyMessageTransport.send() - failed, EMSG=, AOR=xxxxxx, STRACE=com.ibm.msg.client.jms.DetailedJMSException: MQJCA0002: An exception occurred in the WebSphere MQ layer. See the linked exception for details.A call to WebSphere MQ classes for Java(tm) caused an exception to be thrown.See the linked exception for details of the failure.
    
  • WebSphere MQ call failed with compcode '2' ('MQCC_FAILED') reason '2162' ('MQRC_Q_MGR_STOPPING')
