dnsmasq and other services failed to start with dbus error in RHEL 7.4 or later

Issue

  • After yum update, dnsmasq and some other services failed to start with the following message:

    dnsmasq[17501]: dnsmasq: DBus error: Connection ":1.96" is not allowed to own the service "org.dnsmasq" due to security policies in the configuration file
