Red Hat Single Sign-On won't start and gives error ORA-39726 when using Oracle Database

Issue

  • When starting Red Hat Single Sign-On (RH-SSO) for the first time against an Oracle database an error, ORA-39726: unsupported add/drop column operation on compressed tables error is returned., is returned executing the DML to create the database tables.
  • The following DML statement fails starting RH-SSO the first time:

    ALTER TABLE DAPI_SSO_DEV1.CLIENT ADD NODE_REREG_TIMEOUT NUMBER(10) DEFAULT 0
