kdump fails when 'options bnx2 disable_msi=1' is used

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When 'options bnx2 disable_msi=1' is used kdump can never start the 2nd kernel successfullyBut kdump can successfully operate after they remove the option.
  • This option was used to workaround an issue which causes the BCM5709 NIC not to respond when using MSI-X.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.3
  • Broadcom network card / bnx2 module
