Why is the vdsm.log filled with messages "VM metrics collection failed" ?
Issue
When starting a VM sometimes in the vdsm log is possible to see the following error message
2018-02-27 17:10:17,998+0100 ERROR (periodic/452) [root] VM metrics collection failed (vmstats:264)
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/vdsm/virt/vmstats.py", line 201, in send_metrics
data[prefix + '.cpu.usage'] = stat['cpuUsage']
KeyError: 'cpuUsage'
