  • Attempts to contact github.com using the git command fail with nss error -12190 or text like the following:

    $ git clone https://github.com/RedHatBrand/Overpass
Cloning into 'Overpass'...
fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/RedHatBrand/Overpass/': Peer report incompatible or unsupported protocol version.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1 or below
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 or below
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (any version)
  • NSS version 3.19.1-10 or below
