Upgrading to java-1.7.1-ibm-1.7.1.4.15-1jpp.3.el6_9.x86_64 vanishes US_export_policy.jar

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Upgrading from java-1.7.1-ibm-1.7.1.4.5-1jpp.2.el6_9.x86_64 to java-1.7.1-ibm-1.7.1.4.15-1jpp.3.el6_9.x86_64 (RHSA-2017:3268) breaks users' installations.
  • It removes /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.1-ibm-1.7.1.4.5.x86_64/jre/lib/security/US_export_policy.jar and
policy subdirectory so it does break the jce.
  • However in case of fresh installation of java-1.7.1-ibm-1.7.1.4.15-1jpp.3.el6_9.x86_64 US_export_policy.jar is in place, so it is just an update being problematic.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • 6.6
    • java-1.7.1-ibm-1.7.1.4.5-1jpp.2.el6_9.x86_64
