While importing a VM with two or more disks to RHEV, sometimes the resulting images are corrupted

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • In the process of importing a VM with 2 disks to RHEV, sometimes the resulting imported disk images show some type of corruption.
  • The import process into RHEV from the export domain is reported to complete successfully. However, the imported VM has problems. Various symptoms have been observed:
    • VM not booting due to storage issues
    • General disk corruption (filesystem turning read-only, fsck needed)

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1
  • Often related to virt-v2v operations (as these require import operations)
