Issue

  • While restoring the ReaR backup, getting the error: parted -s /dev/sdX mkpart '"primary"' XXXXXXB XXXXXXXB Error: The location XXXXXXB is outside of the device.
  • ReaR backup failing with the below error:
+++ return 0
+++ udevadm settle
+++ parted -s /dev/sdX mkpart '"primary"' XXXXXXB XXXXXXXB
Error: The location XXXXXXB is outside of the device /dev/sdX.
<Date> An error occurred during layout recreation.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 7.
    • ReaR
    • Advanced Format (AF) hard disks.
