Can I add stripes from an already striped LVM logical volume on Red Hat Enterprise Linux?
Issue
- My understanding is that if you have an lv that is striped across 2 physical volumes and you add additional disk, extend the lv with the new disk as striped 4, you can pvmove the data from the old pv's that are striped as a 2 to the new disks that are striped as a 4. then all i have to do is lvreduce the old striped 2 disks out of the lvm.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5)
-
Logical Volume Manager 2 (LVM)
- Logical volume is striped across 2 or more devices
- Want to add 2 more stripes to the logical volume onto 2 more disks.
