How to migrate process instances from jBPM 3 / SOA-P 5 to BPM Suite 6 / Fuse 6

Issue

  • We are planning to migrate system from JBoss SOA Platform 5.1 and jBPM 3.2.6 to JBoss Fuse 6.3 and BPM Suite 6.4. There are generally over a hundred thousand in-flight workflows in the jBPM engine and it would be quite a complex task to migrate them into BPM Suite. Would it be feasible to deploy the jBPM 3 engine alongside BPM Suite 6 and put some logic in the application to use jBPM API calls for existing workflows at go-live and BPM API calls for new ones? Will jBPM 3.2.6 run on Fuse 6.3?
