Instance create fails with `unsupported configuration: native I/O needs either no disk cache or directsync cache mode, QEMU will fallback to aio=threads`

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

We are currently having problems when we instantiate on new and updated servers to RHEL 7.3, the rest of region works correctly.

The error it shows us is the following:

    libvirtd[8385]: unsupported configuration: native I/O needs either no disk cache or directsync cache mode, QEMU will fallback to aio=thread

Checking the server we see that when libvirtd generates the instance through XML the parameter appears:

    io=' native''.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8
  • openstack-nova >= 12.0.4-15
  • nova.conf settings
  • libvirt < 1.2.7-1.el7
preallocate_images=space
disk_cachemodes = file=writeback
