Why does setting nfs.port for one gluster Volume change the setting for all Volumes?
Environment
- Red Hat Storage Server 2.0
Issue
Setting the nfs.port option via the following command
# gluster volume set test1 nfs.port 2409
sets the nfs.port value to 2409 for all volumes.
Resolution
This is expected behaviour as there is one glusterfs process per Storage Server that handles the NFS protocol. This affects the nfs.port setting for all Volumes.
Root Cause
The glusterfs process handling the NFS daemon listens on the nfs.port that is configured in /var/lib/glusterd/nfs/nfs-server.vol This option is normally set through the gluster command and the file should not be edited manually.
