cgconfig fails to start with MRG Realtime 2.2 and 2.3 kernels

Issue

  • cgconfig fails to start with MRG Realtime 2.2 and 2.3 kernels. This problem is not noticed with MRG Realtime 2.0 kernel. Following message is seen in the console
Starting cgconfig service: Error: cannot mount cpu to /cgroup/cpu: No such file or directory
Loading configuration file /etc/cgconfig.conf failed
Cgroup mounting failed
Failed to parse /etc/cgconfig.conf                         [FAILED]

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise MRG RT kernel 3.2.23-rt37.56.el6rt and 3.6.11-rt30.25.el6rt
