Virt P2V Fails Because of Permissions Issue When Using a Non-Default Umask

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When attempting to P2V a system, the process reached 100% and then errored out with the following:
    • external command failed, see earlier error messages at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Sys/VirtConvert/GuestfsHandle.pm line 96, <> line 7.
  • At that point, all data is removed from the export storage domain

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1
  • Physical System to be Virtualized
