What is the default value for the ip resource agent's monitor_link attribute in RHEL 5 and 6 High Availability clusters?

Issue

  • We have added an IP resource to the cluster service from Luci interface and enabled monitor_link option for it, but the IP resource configuration in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf file still does not show any value for monitor_link option:

    <resources>
  <ip address="192.168.0.2" sleeptime="10"/>
</resources>

  • If the monitor_link option is disabled/unchecked from Luci, then cluster.conf shows monitor_link="0". Is this expected behaviour?

    <resources>
  <ip address="192.168.0.2" monitor_link="0" sleeptime="10"/>
</resources>

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • rgmanager
  • One or more ip resources in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
